Sri Chaitanya's Concept of Finite Self

Sri Krishna

"The Chaitanyites accept the individual personality of the individual soul in relation to the Supreme Person, the Godhead.

The eternal relation between God and a soul can be in the feelings of the Master and the servant, of Friend and friend, of Son and parents or of Consortship and womanhood of the soul respectively.

Sri Chaitanya
Neither God nor the individual soul has any physical or subtle body or form. They are all spiritual supra-mundane Spiritual Entities and therefore definitely possess supra-mundane aprakrta Forms of Their own unlike any form or body we can conceive of in the phenomenal world.

Swami Bon
So the finite self is neither male nor female in any material or earthly sense, but at the same time it does possess feelings of male as servant, friend, father or feelings of a female as mother or a mistress or a maid-servant in the Transcendental Realm of the Absolute Divine.

As no earthly experience or mundane association of ideas can ever lead one to the Realm of God, it is inconceivable for the person in bondage to realise and understand soul's eternal relation with God.
Sri Caitanya says that this relation is bhakti, i.e., loving services, and SUPRA-MUNDANE PREMA."
